"Work spares us from three evils: boredom, vice, and need." -Voltaire

Well I just made my deposit of $2,500. No turning back now....not that I would!
I need to make $2,600 by March 31st along with between $1,000 and $2,000 for my flight and then an additional amount for food and expenses while overseas.
I hate that this is all about money; I'm sorry.
But! Once the meetings start and I learn more about the class I will be taking and the trips that will be available, the site will spice up!
This weekend I will be working on my scholarship: filling out applications and hopefully writing some essays.
Thank you to all who are staying with me!
On a different note, I have started in the classrooms with my education classes. On Mondays and Wednesdays I am in a Kindergarten all day and on Fridays I am in a Pre-school. It is so great. I cannot wait to have my own classroom and my own students one day. I have wanted to be a teacher since I was in second grade and I can't believe that it is beginning to happen! These past two weeks of classes have been hard; I don't ever remember being this tired. Last weekend I spent 20 hours in the library. But it is all worth it! I want to learn everything I can and be the best educator I can be!
Best wishes to everyone :)

  2. Good luck Sarah!!! I know exactly how tired you must feel!! I used to think that the kids were somehow physically draining the energy from my body. It's a difficult thing, doing teaching and college simultaneously but you will get through it and someday soon you will be a remarkable teacher! :) Some time (if you have time) give me a call when you are back in town and you can be my special guest in my classroom (if you want to). In the meantime, keep your spirits up and blog often - I can't wait to read about your trip to Italy. I'm going to live vicariously through you! ~ Nicky

  5. The deadline for the online application and the two papers is March 1st. I believe I will know by the end of June or beginning of May.

  7. Yes! I have gotten a flight! I was going to go Non-stop but decided it would be cheaper to make a layover. I have a layover in Ireland (how awesome is that??). But the travel plans are set. I am getting very nervous :)
